Job Description
As a Consulting Engineer (G4) within the SP Migration practice, you will be an active contributor to the full lifecycle of large-scale Service Provider network migration projects. Working alongside senior technical leads, you will help accelerate customer business outcomes by supporting the design, configuration, testing, and execution of migrations across Cisco SP platforms. This role offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge network technology, real-world migration execution, and the opportunity to develop deep expertise in IOS-XR, IP/MPLS, and automation — positioning you for accelerated career growth within Cisco CX.
Support the design and implementation of Service Provider network migrations, including platform upgrades, topology changes, and protocol transitions across Cisco IOS-XR & Nexus -based router platforms (ASR, NCS, and Cisco 8K Series).
Contribute to the development of technical documentation including test plans, MOPs, and post-migration validation reports that meet Cisco CX quality standards.
Apply Python scripting and automation tooling to accelerate repetitive migration tasks, improving delivery efficiency and reducing manual error rates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including TAC, and partner organizations to resolve escalated issues and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the migration lifecycle.
Identify and escalate risks proactively, providing structured problem analysis and recommended mitigation actions to senior engineers and program leads.
Requirements & Experience
Active CCNA certification; CCNP (Service Provider) certification highly desirable or actively in progress.
1–3 years of hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching platforms, including exposure to IOS-XR environments.
Working knowledge of core Service Provider networking protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, IP/MPLS, and QoS fundamentals.
Demonstrated experience supporting or executing network migration activities, including lab validation, MOP adherence, and change window participation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent, demonstrable work experience in a network engineering role.
