Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team at SolarWinds. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, a learning mindset, and the ability to deliver well-scoped work with guidance in a collaborative environment. The team is responsible for building and improving foundational software capabilities that support reliable, scalable, and secure product development across SolarWinds.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software components and services.
Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code with guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality and consistency.
Create and maintain unit tests and automated tests to support reliable releases.
Troubleshoot defects and assist with resolving product and production issues.
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver sprint commitments.
Requirements & Experience
Strong foundation in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Go, Python, or similar.
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
Familiarity with version control, debugging, testing practices, and modern development workflows.
Basic knowledge of APIs, databases, and software development lifecycle concepts.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply feedback effectively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Qualifications
0–2 years of software engineering experience through full-time work, internships, or academic projects.
